A short story by Scott_fitzgerald. The film adaptation is very different from the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. In the short story, Benjamin Button is born physically and mentally developed as an old man (asking for a rocking chair), and dies physically and mentally young. This is substantially different from the film, where Benjamin is born physically old but with the mental capacity of a newborn, and dies physically young although his mind aged normally throughout his life. Aside from the dynamics of the main character,
there is a change in setting from mostly late nineteenth century Baltimore to mostly twentieth century New Orleans. The original short story has Benjamin attending Harvard University, playing college football, going off to war, taking over his father’s business, and even getting married, whereas the film adaptation keeps some of these plot points, but changes most of the details and supporting characters.
